Medical Poster Printing Glasgow: NHS research day, clinical audit and conference posters

Medical poster printing in Glasgow for NHS staff, clinicians and researchers who have a research day on Friday and a poster that is still a PowerPoint file.

Research poster printing is a large part of what our wide-format printer does. We print A0 and A1 posters from your file, check it first, and deliver to the hospital by bike courier. It sits alongside our academic poster printing service for university conferences, and our wider NHS and healthcare print work.

  • Printed from your PowerPoint or PDF, checked before it runs
  • 12-colour 1440 dpi printer for accurate charts, scans and imaging

Who we print medical and research posters for

Between the health board sites and the medical schools, a hospital research day poster is one of the most common jobs on the printer.

01

Hospital research days

Posters for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde research days, departmental showcases and trainee presentation evenings across the QEUH, Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Gartnavel sites.

02

Clinical audit and QI posters

Clinical audit poster printing for junior doctors, nurses and AHPs presenting quality improvement work. Usually A1, usually needed for Friday.

03

Conferences and society meetings

Posters for national and international meetings, printed here so you carry the tube on the train rather than trusting a hotel printer at the other end.

04

Medical school and PhD posters

Research posters for students and postgraduates at the University of Glasgow School of Medicine, Strathclyde and Glasgow Caledonian health faculties.

02

Research poster prices

Flat prices, printed in-house, matte or satin included. No quote needed for a standard poster.

01

A0 poster

£50

841 × 1189mm

The size most conferences and research days ask for. Portrait by default.

02

A1 poster

£40

594 × 841mm

Common for audit boards and departmental research days with smaller display panels.

03

A2 poster

£30

420 × 594mm

Ward notices, study recruitment posters and smaller display boards.

04

Rush and courier

+£10 / £15

Same-day rush per poster / bike courier

Same-day rush adds £10 per poster. Bike courier to any Glasgow hospital site or the city centre is £15. Two or more posters, £5 off each.

Poster orders from £30. Free delivery on standard-turnaround orders over £50. Need a plain big print without the file check? See A0, A1 and A2 printing.

03

From PowerPoint to poster board

Most NHS poster printing starts as a slide made on a ward computer at the wrong page size. That is fine, the check is there to catch it.

01

Send the file

PowerPoint or PDF, plus the size the organisers asked for and the date you need it. If you are unsure of the size, A0 portrait is the usual default.

02

We check it

Page size against print size, image resolution on scans and figures, fonts, margins and any logo that has been stretched. We flag problems before printing.

03

Print and finish

Printed on our in-house wide-format printer with colour management, so a red bar on a chart prints red and not orange. Matte or satin.

04

Collect or courier

Collect rolled from Washington Street, G3, or have it bike-delivered to the hospital site or the department for £15.

Colour, finish and file setup

A clinical poster lives or dies on its figures. Kaplan-Meier curves, forest plots, bar charts with a significance marker, a CT slice: all of it needs to print the way it looked on screen. Our 12-colour, 1440 dpi printer is colour managed for exactly that, and where the software lets you, export charts as vector so the lines stay crisp at A0.

Matte and satin are both included in the price. Matte reads better under hospital strip lighting and suits text-heavy audit posters. Satin lifts photographs and imaging. Set the page to A0 portrait (84.1cm by 118.9cm) or A1 portrait (59.4cm by 84.1cm) before you design, keep 10mm clear around the edge, and check the organiser’s instructions in case the boards are landscape. For the rest, our guide to preparing files for print covers resolution and bleed.

06

Medical poster printing, common questions

What NHS staff and researchers ask before sending a poster to print.

How much does medical poster printing cost in Glasgow?

An A0 poster is £50, A1 is £40 and A2 is £30, with £5 off each poster when you order two or more, which suits a department sending several people to the same research day. Same-day rush is £10 per poster and bike courier to the hospital is £15. Poster orders start from £30 and delivery on standard orders over £50 is free.

Can you invoice my department or the health board?

Yes, we can invoice your department. Ask when ordering and give us the name of the department, the budget holder and any purchase order or cost centre reference you need on the invoice. If you would rather pay by card and claim it back, that is fine too.

Do you deliver to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital?

Yes. Our bike courier delivers to the QEUH, Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Gartnavel General and the Beatson, the Royal Hospital for Children, and the university medical schools for a flat £15. Give us the building, floor and a phone number, and the rider will meet you at reception or the department. Collection from our G3 studio is also fine.

Should I send PowerPoint or PDF?

PDF is best, exported at the final page size. Most research posters are made in PowerPoint though, and that works too: set the slide size to 84.1cm by 118.9cm for A0 portrait or 59.4cm by 84.1cm for A1, then export a PDF. If you send the PowerPoint itself, we convert it and send you a proof before anything prints.

Will my charts and images print accurately?

Our wide-format printer runs 12 inks at 1440 dpi with colour management, so bar charts, survival curves, histology and imaging figures print close to what you see on a calibrated screen. Keep figures at 150dpi or better at print size, and export charts as vector where the software allows, because a screenshot of a chart will look soft at A0.

Matte or satin, which should I choose?

Matte is the safe choice for a poster hall lit by strip lights, because it does not throw reflections at the people reading it. Satin gives photographs, scans and imaging a bit more depth and a slightly richer black. Both are the same price. If in doubt, matte for text-heavy audit posters, satin for anything built around images.

How quickly can you print a research poster?

Standard turnaround is quick, and same-day rush is available for £10 per poster if the research day is tomorrow. Phone 0141 345 5841 with the file to hand and we will confirm before you pay. For a poster needed at a conference venue in town the same afternoon, see our SEC event printing page.

Research day this week? Send the file and the date and we will confirm what is possible within the working day. Get in touch.

Have a project?

We'd love to hear about it. Whether it's a canvas print, a rebrand, or a full-stack build, let's talk.
