The Southside is Glasgow’s independent quarter: cafes and delis on Victoria Road and Nithsdale Road, salons and restaurants around Shawlands Cross, tradespeople working out of the tenements, and schools, churches and community groups in Govanhill and Pollokshields. Where is the studio, and how do I get there from the Southside?
Unit 204b, 36-38 Washington Street, Glasgow G3 8AZ, on the north bank of the Clyde beside the Kingston Bridge. By car it is over the bridge or the M8 from the M77. By train, any Cathcart Circle station, Pollokshields East or West, Queen’s Park, Crosshill, Mount Florida or Cathcart, runs to Glasgow Central, and the studio is about a ten-minute walk from there. Walk in Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 6pm.
Which Southside postcodes do you cover?
All of them, because the bike courier is a flat £15 anywhere in Glasgow: G41 for Pollokshields, Strathbungo and Dumbreck, G42 for Govanhill, Queen’s Park, Mount Florida and Battlefield, G43 for Shawlands, Pollokshaws and Mansewood, G44 for Cathcart, Newlands and Muirend, and G5 and G51 for the Gorbals, Laurieston and Ibrox. Giffnock, Clarkston and Newton Mearns are in East Renfrewshire, outside the courier zone, but covered by free standard delivery over £50.
Is there a minimum order for a small Southside cafe or shop?
No. Menus start at 25 for £35, flyers at 200 for £25, business cards at 250 for £30 and a single A3 poster is £3.99. Menus, posters and flyers are printed in-house, so a run of 25 costs what the table says and a reprint when the specials change is a phone call.
Do you print for schools, churches and community groups?
Yes, and it is a large part of our Southside work. Fundraising flyers, event posters, programmes, roller banners and newsletters for schools, nurseries, churches and community organisations across Govanhill, Pollokshields and Queen’s Park. Can you print NCR invoice pads and site banners for a trade business?
Yes. NCR duplicate and triplicate pads for invoices, delivery notes and job sheets are printed with your details on every sheet, and letterheads start at £49 for 500 on 100gsm bond. A 2m x 1m PVC banner for the van or the site is £63 and a roller banner £69; both are an outsourced finish, so allow 4 to 5 working days.
