Finding a printer for a short-run magazine is harder than it should be. Most magazine printers are set up for national titles and want runs in the thousands; most high-street printers can’t bind a proper magazine at all. Glasgow GFX sits in the gap — saddle-stitched and perfect-bound magazines from just 25 copies, printed and finished in-house.

That low minimum matters if you publish an independent title, a zine, a member magazine, or an event programme. You can print what this issue actually needs — 50 copies for a launch, 200 for a season — instead of paying for boxes that end up in a cupboard. Full colour throughout is standard, on 130gsm or 170gsm silk, with 120gsm uncoated available for the matte, literary feel that suits journals and art zines.

Covers can run self-cover for a classic newsstand feel, or step up to 250gsm with matt or gloss lamination for a premium issue. Saddle-stitching handles up to 48 pages; perfect binding takes you from 32 pages to well over 100 with a flat, printable spine.

Express saddle-stitched runs turn around in 2–3 working days — useful for programmes with a fixed event date. Standard turnaround is 5–7 days. If you publish on a schedule, we hold your spec on file so every issue matches the last, and repeat runs move faster than the first.

A magazine is judged the moment it’s picked up — the cover has to feel right, the spine has to sit flat, and page 3 has to line up with page 46. We print and bind in-house, so short runs get the same finishing care as long ones, and you’re talking to the people actually making your magazine rather than a reseller.
