What we build

Six shapes of project cover most of what clients ask for. If yours does not fit neatly, that is usually a sign it needs building rather than buying. Websites and marketing sites are handled by our web development service instead.

01

Bespoke web platforms

Multi-user systems your team logs into every day: case management, job tracking, scheduling, reporting. Built to your process rather than bent around somebody else.

02

Internal tools and automation

The spreadsheet everyone is scared to touch, replaced. Quoting engines, approval flows, data entry that fills itself in, and the reporting your board keeps asking for.

03

Integrations and APIs

Connect the tools you already pay for. We have wired up accounting systems such as Xero, CRMs, ERPs, payment providers and mapping data, and we build custom APIs when nothing off the shelf fits.

04

Customer portals and dashboards

Self-service for your clients and live numbers for you. Accounts, documents, bookings, invoices and analytics behind proper role-based access.

05

Web and mobile apps

Customer-facing apps for bookings, ordering and self-service, web first and native when the project genuinely needs it. From £8,000.

06

Legacy system modernisation

Already running software you have outgrown, or software whose original developer has long gone? We migrate it in stages that keep you trading. From £10,000.

02

Software we have shipped

Four builds that show the range, from a regulated healthcare platform to a pricing engine we run in our own print business. Full write-ups in the portfolio.

01

MEDICO, medico-legal case management

Multi-tenant case management for medical-legal expert witnesses, with an AI transcription pipeline that cut report drafting from hours to minutes across 20 workflow stages. We delivered 14 formal NHS compliance documents in-house. Ongoing build.

02

Studio management platform

A multi-tenant SaaS platform running 11 types of service business, with adaptive onboarding, machine-learning demand forecasting and churn prediction, and 10 locales including right-to-left Arabic. 307+ routes, delivered in 20 weeks.

03

Print calculator and CRM

A pricing engine, quote builder and sales CRM for print businesses. Imposition maths, tiered ink costs and VAT handled properly, cutting quote turnaround from hours to roughly two minutes with no monthly running cost. Six weeks.

04

Font creator for Adobe Illustrator

A design-tool product that turns drawn letterforms into working font files, replacing a slow hop between Illustrator and specialist font editors. Verified across Windows, macOS and the major browsers.

03

How an engagement works

Six stages, and you can stop at the end of any of them. Nobody signs off a six-figure build on the strength of a chat and a handshake.

01

Requirements

A workshop with the people who actually do the work. We map the current process end to end, find where the time and the money leak, and agree what the software has to change.

02

Specification

A written technical specification before any code exists: screens, data, rules, integrations and what is deliberately out of scope. This is what your quote is priced against.

03

Architecture

System design and technology decisions, documented in plain English. Hosting, data model, access tiers and security are settled here, not discovered halfway through the build.

04

Development

Iterative build with regular demos on a live staging URL. You see working software every couple of weeks and can steer priorities while it is still cheap to change your mind.

05

Testing

Automated tests, security testing to OWASP guidelines, and user acceptance with your own staff on your own data before anything goes near production.

06

Deployment and handover

Go-live, monitoring, training for your team and full documentation. The source code is yours, and ongoing development is an option rather than an obligation.

04

Investment guide

Typical budgets by project shape. Software is quoted individually against the written specification, so the number you get is tied to an agreed scope rather than an hourly guess.

01

Under £15,000

Single-purpose

Simple internal tools and automations. One clear job, one team using it, replacing a spreadsheet or a manual process that has outgrown itself.

02

£15,000 to £50,000

Multi-user

Multi-user systems with integrations, roles and reporting. The bracket most operational platforms and customer portals land in.

03

£50,000 to £150,000

Platform scale

Complex platforms and SaaS products: multi-tenant architecture, payments, analytics and compliance work of the kind MEDICO needed.

04

£150,000+

Ongoing programme

Enterprise systems and continuing development, where the software is a long-running product rather than a one-off project.

Not sure which band your project sits in? That is normal at this stage. Tell us what you are trying to fix and we will come back with a scope and a quote. Replacing something that already exists? Start with legacy system modernisation.

05

What every build includes

The things that should never be line items on a software quote.

  • 01Software built to your exact requirements, not a template with your logo on it
  • 02Integration with the systems you already run
  • 03Scalable architecture that copes when your usage grows
  • 04Secure by design, following OWASP guidelines with encrypted sensitive data
  • 05GDPR and sector compliance requirements built into the specification
  • 06Comprehensive technical and user documentation
  • 07Training and handover for your team included
  • 08Full source code ownership once the project is paid for
  • 09Ongoing support and development available, never compulsory

Bespoke software, common questions

The questions business owners ask before committing to a custom build.

How much does bespoke software cost in Glasgow?

Bespoke software starts at £10,000 for a simple internal tool. Multi-user systems with integrations typically run from £15,000 to £50,000, and complex platforms or SaaS products from £50,000 to £150,000. Every project is scoped and quoted individually before development starts, so you get a figure to work with rather than an open-ended day rate.

How long does a bespoke software project take?

It depends on scope, and we confirm the timeline in writing before we start. As a guide from our own work: the print calculator and CRM took six weeks, the studio management platform ran to 20 weeks across 307+ routes, and MEDICO is an ongoing build we are still extending. You see working software on a staging URL throughout, not just at the end.

Who owns the source code?

You do. Once the project is complete and paid for, the code is yours outright, along with full handover documentation and training for your team. You are not renting your own system back from us, and you are free to take it elsewhere.

Can you integrate with the systems we already use?

Yes, and integration is usually a large part of the job. We have connected accounting software such as Xero, CRMs, ERPs, payment providers including Stripe, and third-party data such as the Google Maps API for automated mileage and travel-time billing. Where no integration exists, we build a custom API.

What technology do you build with?

Mainly TypeScript across the stack: Next.js and React on the front end, Node.js or NestJS services behind it, PostgreSQL for data, Redis for caching and queues, Python where data processing calls for it. We deploy with Docker to AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, with infrastructure defined in code so environments are reproducible.

Why build bespoke software instead of buying off the shelf?

Buy off the shelf when a product genuinely fits. Build bespoke when it does not, because forcing your process into somebody else's rigid workflow costs more in workarounds than the licence ever saved. The businesses that come to us are usually running a patchwork of spreadsheets, subscriptions and manual steps that nobody owns, and paying monthly for the privilege.

What happens after launch, and do you work outside Glasgow?

Every build is handed over with documentation and training, and you can add ongoing support and development if you want it. We are based on Washington Street in Glasgow G3 with a second location in Hamilton, and we work remotely with clients across Scotland and the rest of the UK. Most project work happens over video calls and a shared staging URL regardless of where you are.
