Bespoke Software Development Glasgow: software company glasgow, custom software development scotland, bespoke software uk, software developers near me
Custom systems for businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets, subscriptions and workarounds.
We design and build bespoke software from our Washington Street studio in Glasgow, for clients across Scotland and the wider UK. Case management platforms, internal tools, quoting engines, customer portals and the integrations that tie them together. You get a written specification, a fixed scope, and the source code at the end of it.

What we build
Six shapes of project cover most of what clients ask for. If yours does not fit neatly, that is usually a sign it needs building rather than buying. Websites and marketing sites are handled by our web development service instead.
Bespoke web platforms
Multi-user systems your team logs into every day: case management, job tracking, scheduling, reporting. Built to your process rather than bent around somebody else.
Internal tools and automation
The spreadsheet everyone is scared to touch, replaced. Quoting engines, approval flows, data entry that fills itself in, and the reporting your board keeps asking for.
Integrations and APIs
Connect the tools you already pay for. We have wired up accounting systems such as Xero, CRMs, ERPs, payment providers and mapping data, and we build custom APIs when nothing off the shelf fits.
Customer portals and dashboards
Self-service for your clients and live numbers for you. Accounts, documents, bookings, invoices and analytics behind proper role-based access.
Software we have shipped
Four builds that show the range, from a regulated healthcare platform to a pricing engine we run in our own print business. Full write-ups in the portfolio.
MEDICO · Studio Management Platform · Print Calculator & CRM · Font Creator
How an engagement works
Six stages, and you can stop at the end of any of them. Nobody signs off a six-figure build on the strength of a chat and a handshake.
Requirements
A workshop with the people who actually do the work. We map the current process end to end, find where the time and the money leak, and agree what the software has to change.
Specification
A written technical specification before any code exists: screens, data, rules, integrations and what is deliberately out of scope. This is what your quote is priced against.
Architecture
System design and technology decisions, documented in plain English. Hosting, data model, access tiers and security are settled here, not discovered halfway through the build.
Development
Iterative build with regular demos on a live staging URL. You see working software every couple of weeks and can steer priorities while it is still cheap to change your mind.
Testing
Automated tests, security testing to OWASP guidelines, and user acceptance with your own staff on your own data before anything goes near production.
Deployment and handover
Go-live, monitoring, training for your team and full documentation. The source code is yours, and ongoing development is an option rather than an obligation.
Investment guide
Typical budgets by project shape. Software is quoted individually against the written specification, so the number you get is tied to an agreed scope rather than an hourly guess.

Bespoke software, common questions
The questions business owners ask before committing to a custom build.
How much does bespoke software cost in Glasgow?
Bespoke software starts at £10,000 for a simple internal tool. Multi-user systems with integrations typically run from £15,000 to £50,000, and complex platforms or SaaS products from £50,000 to £150,000. Every project is scoped and quoted individually before development starts, so you get a figure to work with rather than an open-ended day rate.
How long does a bespoke software project take?
It depends on scope, and we confirm the timeline in writing before we start. As a guide from our own work: the print calculator and CRM took six weeks, the studio management platform ran to 20 weeks across 307+ routes, and MEDICO is an ongoing build we are still extending. You see working software on a staging URL throughout, not just at the end.
Who owns the source code?
You do. Once the project is complete and paid for, the code is yours outright, along with full handover documentation and training for your team. You are not renting your own system back from us, and you are free to take it elsewhere.
Can you integrate with the systems we already use?
Yes, and integration is usually a large part of the job. We have connected accounting software such as Xero, CRMs, ERPs, payment providers including Stripe, and third-party data such as the Google Maps API for automated mileage and travel-time billing. Where no integration exists, we build a custom API.
What technology do you build with?
Mainly TypeScript across the stack: Next.js and React on the front end, Node.js or NestJS services behind it, PostgreSQL for data, Redis for caching and queues, Python where data processing calls for it. We deploy with Docker to AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, with infrastructure defined in code so environments are reproducible.
Why build bespoke software instead of buying off the shelf?
Buy off the shelf when a product genuinely fits. Build bespoke when it does not, because forcing your process into somebody else's rigid workflow costs more in workarounds than the licence ever saved. The businesses that come to us are usually running a patchwork of spreadsheets, subscriptions and manual steps that nobody owns, and paying monthly for the privilege.
What happens after launch, and do you work outside Glasgow?
Every build is handed over with documentation and training, and you can add ongoing support and development if you want it. We are based on Washington Street in Glasgow G3 with a second location in Hamilton, and we work remotely with clients across Scotland and the rest of the UK. Most project work happens over video calls and a shared staging URL regardless of where you are.
